Introduction
Outlook's Notes feature is the electronic version of sticky notes, those yellow
notes you stick onto your desk or computer to remind you of things. Use Outlook's
Notes to do the same. You can attach a note to a contact to remind you to call him,
or you can drag a note onto the Windows desktop to remind you of an important task.
You can also drag notes into other Office 97 programs.
|
Step 1: Start a New Note
To create a note, open the Actions menu and select New Note, or click the New Note
button on the toolbar. This opens a small, yellow note box.
|
Step 2: Enter Note Text
Notice the note already has the current date and time entered. Enter your note text.
|
Step 3: Resize the Note
Drag any edge of the note to resize it. When you hover your mouse pointer over an edge,
it becomes a two-sided arrow. Click and drag the edge to resize the note box.
|
Step 4: Change the Note Color
If you prefer a color other than the default yellow, click the upper-left icon in
the note and select Color, then choose another color to use.
|
Step 5: Close the Note
To close a note, click anywhere outside the note, or click the note's Close button.
To drag a note elsewhere on the desktop, click and drag the note's blue bar (located
at the top of the note box).
